Nowadays music festivals that stay true to their underground roots are a challenging find for punters, many UK festivals have adopted a more generic line up recently and although its not the case with all of them it’s perhaps an added bonus when a festival such as Seasplash combines a hole host of interesting artists with a beautiful Croatian beach setting, who doesn’t want to add a little sun to their drinking and dancing?.
“The festival takes place at a magical location – Fort Punta Christo near Pula”
This years announced line up so far includes a fair amount of UK acts including Bristol locals Gardna and Fat Stash who then carry the link to northern rude-boy Parly B also part of the Boom Sound family. Reggae royalty Channel One grace the festival this year with Mad Professor being another notable name in the dub vibes category. The festival covers a range of soundsystem music with Reggae, Dub and Dancehall being key players, it’s clear to see that its all about the music here and what a setting to capture it in Fort Punta Christo, Pula.
With tickets starting at 75 Euro for what is essentially a knees up on the beach for four days in the sun what more could you ask for. It’s easy to see why European festivals like this are getting so much attention from UK festival goers especially and I’m sure there’ll plenty more eclectic names in the next few line up announcements from Seasplash.
