Birmingham’s nightlife is renowned throughout the country, with iconic venues like The Custard Factory, Cue Club & The Rainbow Venues regularly playing host to some of the finest nights in electronic music. Newly established Scru club is set to follow in the footsteps of these revered venues. Housed below street level in a renovated screw factory, it boasts a creative space with an emphasis on electronic events and has already created a buzz with partygoers nationwide.
Saturday’s are reserved solely for ‘Scru Presents’, a forward thinking night pushing the best homegrown music that Birmingham has to offer. Launching on May 13th Scru will play host to Birmingham favourite Marc Spence, who after recently finishing his tour of Australia & New Zealand, is now back in the UK and ready to unleash an array of bangers on par with his well loved release ‘NASTY’.
Supporting the heavyweight headliner are two DJ’s making waves in the circuit, Richey Profond & Jack Swaffer. With residencies in Ibiza, support from BBC’s Danny Howard and releases on Simma Black and 303 Lovers, there’s nothing but forward movements from this duo.
The residents from Egg London as well a selection of local talent from BRUM DJ Academy will be joining them behind the decks throughout the evening, bringing only the finest blends of house and electronic music. Powered by the mighty Void Acoustics, with free entry before 11pm and only £5 after, the launch of this potentially iconic platform is set to be one for the books.
